I usually just get the San Jose Mercury News ($1 at Wags, RA, Dollar Tree, etc.) but was given the last two weeks' inserts from the SF Chronicle. I was surprised at the differences. A few Qs were less value and some were not there at all / swapped with other Qs that I didn't get in the Merc. I thought it was very interesting how different they were, will try to do another comparison.
I know!! I hate it bc we never get the Covergirl Q's, this time we got the covergirl q's, but only the $1 off one, not the bogo Q Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I shouldn't complain, bc I can at least get the P&G inserts, but only from the SF chronicle, my local paper gets horrible Q's!! I get a home delivery of both papers, and the SF is almost always better with Q's. It is kinda nice though getting both delivered. Then I can check them out in the AM and decide how many of each paper I need Smilie

My new job is with the local newspaper... and as a "perk" I get a 25% discount on home delivery. Sorry, but even at that price, I'm still not paying that much for those (relatively) sucky Qs! I got a deal for $0.88/week for (just) the Sun Philly Inquirer delivered and I'm sticking with that. nod

The neighbors give me their copies of the local inserts -- some voluntarily and some I raid from their recycling bins every week. Evillaugh

I too have quite a bit of Dawn thanks to the P&G/Duracell/GC deal at Kmart last year! Oh how I loved that deal!
I loved that deal, too. Smilie I had to donate about 50 bottles of dawn and we STILL have a ton left.

So me and dh have decided to undertake the task of quitting smoking. Anyone have any advice, tips, or tricks? We were thinking about trying the nicotine gum. I'm actually really excited about the prospect of not smoking!!

If you have a CVS nearby, they run ECB deals on Nicorette fairly often. That's about all the advice I can give... I quit when I was pregnant... and then started again. Sadwalk

What is an opc???

I did the same thing, had dd and started up again. But dd is at the age where she tries to imitate everything we do and she grabbed a cigarette the other day and held it just like I do, so we said ok it's time to quit. I want to be a role model for my dd and I don't want to project my bad habits on to her. I feel like a douchebag even saying she did such a thing.

LOL, I finally got it!! Yea, A lot of the people I work with smoke so that's gonna be a toughy.

Of course we don't have cvs by me *sigh*

I'm also not gonna tell everyone, always seem to jinx myself when I do. We decided that we're going to put the money we save ($84 in 12 days at LEAST) in a savings account. We want to have another kid and if we have some money saved up, my mom won't be able to bitch about not being financially ready and last time I was on bedrest for 3 weeks which killed us financially. Hopefully that will make this time a little more stress free!

I took a late nap, that's why I'm not sleeping. Me and dh are night people. I should be in bed but oh well! I don't work until 5 tommorow and dd stayed up late tonight.

I made a chart of how much money we are saving and we are using that as a big motivating factor. and we really don't want to wait much longer to have another kid. I've been on my meds for over a week straight so hopefully they'll do their job and I'll at least be fertile lol.

Good idea, on not telling anyone, I do that everytime I go on a diet... so then if I decide to cheat once in awhile, no one is bugging me that I'm "cheating".

Good luck Jen....

Not sure how much you pay per pack for cigs, but I pay $9.50 a pack EEK! ( In Canada)... so when I go down to the good old USA, and I stay for more than 48 hours... I buy them at the duty free for $44 a carton (10 per carton)...

Holy Crap!!!! I pay about $7 for two packs. My mom's bf is from Canada and I can not buhlieve how much they cost!! Cartons here in good ole stl are about $26.00 Heck, in Chicago there on average $10 more than here.

i just feel like I have so many more reasons to quit! I'm getting the baby urge again!

I want to quit too! A carton here sets me back about $65! My quit date is September 30th. I have a deal with DH that if I quit by then, I can have 3K of his 4K tribal per capita he gets in December. Of course, we had the same deal last year and I still smoke! I'd love to hear tips too!

How do you get 30 or 40 inserts (anepu, dblsided)?
I do have a new technique that has been working really well (my old "supplier" is not getting me as many). We have been travelling the past few weekends, so on the way home Sun afternoon or evening when we get gas (has to be smalltown where they sell papers inside the store).... just ask if they usually sell out of papers and if I can just have the inserts. I got about 12 a couple weeks ago and got 5 of the P&G last week this way.
I buy 10 at CVS if it's a good week with ECB. The deals have sucked so much lately I don't mind burning them. Then I wait up for my local Sunoco station, if I go at 11, he gives me whatever he has left. Then on Wed or Sat, hubby will go to the recycling station to drop off our garbage and he goes through the newspapers that people put in the bin and pulls out the inserts since no one knows how to recycle around here. And they don't cut their coupons either!!
