Thanks everyone for the IVC explanation!!
My razor deal wasn't as "slick" as I had hoped for there - they did the bogos AFTER the ivc... but oh well - bought the packs with 10 razors in each, so got 40 razors for 4ish dollars. I'll live! Wink Better deal was the 6 free bottles of l'oreal shampoo/conditioner Coverlaugh

I finally met my match today at T. Cashier refused to take a T and a MQ coupon together saying "we won't get reimbursed for this" ... she wasn't wearing a name tag and refused to call over a supervisor... I left - emailed corporate. I did not want to deal with her I'm so mighty with my bright gold eyeshadow attitude and I didn't care enough to deal with it at the store - didn't need the stuff I was trying to buy anyways (better to save money by not buying then spending money to get things cheap laugh out loud ).

If it is $1 off one, there are small 25 bag ziploc pouches hanging at the cashier lanes (with the gum, junk food, drinks and other little stuff). They would be free, and that's always nice Smilie

I have yet to find one...

Not technically - that would be using 2 TQs and 1 MFQ on the same item. Most cashiers are letting them through because neither one should beep if you buy diapers and wipes.

Most cashiers do not know the finer details of the coupon policy, if I am called out for using both Q's I will say nowhere on either Q does it state they cannot be used to combine offers, just states one of each Q per offer. I would still fully expect to still get deniedlaugh out loud .

Hi all - I just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten about posting results of the contest today - I'm tossing around a few ideas since we had some really unique entries!! bounce I will post a winner (or two!) later on tonight or first thing in the a.m. - PROMISE!!
Ok - the votes are in and we have a winner - make that 3 winners!!!

First, I want to thank our participants for digging around and finding these fabulous entries that sparked some good conversation - Happy birthday to everyone!!! Nice to see that we have a nice cross-section of generations here! Interesting perspectives on things!!

Ok - on with the show.......

First, Mamajayjay gets the prize for the very first entry! It looks like a 1982 Golden Book coupon for $.15 off a book that cost over $1.50. Seems like an expensive book for the time! And note the handling fee.... $.07!!!! Can you believe the handling fee has only gone up $.01 in over 25 years!!! Unreal!! See post #48 for this 'golden' beauty laugh out loud .

Next, Gotta love Bronc's 1954 entry for Pillbury's "points" coupon. Did anyone have any idea that coupons were even around over 50 years ago?!? From what I understand, a loaf of bread was like a nickel back then - could you even imagine?!? shake head . See this one in post #351. Honorable mention for the 4 others from 1997 in post #346.

Finally, I definately need to give a prize to lpagel for coming up with the funniest coupon - c'mon, can you believe that there were even coupon fraud issues back in the 70s??? See post #372 in this thread for the now famous Bounce coupon with the most interesting disclaimer: "Don't embarass your dealer by asking to redeem coupons without making the required purchase of this brand"..... thought the SDers came up with that idea, huh? How interesting that it was P&G that came out with this verbiage!!! Wink .

Mamajayjay, Bronc and lpagel, please PM me your addys so I can send your prizes!!

Congratulations to all of our winners and thanks for participating!! bounce

Donna
I can remember seeing signs at the registers in the grocery stores when I was young saying "Please don't ask us to redeem coupons for items you have not purchased." I couldn't understand it then, but I sure do now! And this was back in the '50s and '60s!!

And a BIG thank you to Donna for such a fun diversion from the usual coupon stuff.

I really enjoyed seeing some of the old coupons and how they've changed!
