This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

I know some have posted about using this successfully, but be careful before anyone invests too much in the system-- my four stinkers absolutely refused to use it at all. One tried to eat the pellets. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

BTW, hi everyone! I know I've been MIA for almost a month. Doubt anyone was dying to know why Teehee but I'll tell you anyway. I've been completely out of it, so tired and exhaused and pretty much vomit all the time because. . .

I'm pregnant! Smilie

I got so much good advice from you all last month about buying the pg tests, so I went to the dollar store about bought four of them. Turned out I wasted $3. Smilie Whoever said a 34 year old whose been on the pill for 11 years straight couldn't get knocked up w/in two weeks of "trying."

So I'm 11 weeks more or less and the due date is February 15th. I really really can't wait until the 1st trimester is over b/c everyone keeps promising me I'll feel less crappy then and I really hope that's true but besides that everything is good. Got to hear the baby's heartbeat at my first appointment last Tuesday; that was quite heart heart

Hope you all are well, and thanks again for all the good advice. wave
wow! that was insanely fast! lol rub some of your luck off on me. no preggers yet here, but we haven't put a lot of effort into it yet.
i am so happy for you though! reading about you certainly makes me feel much better about our odds. (i was on bc for a long time also.. over 5 years)

you must keep us updated! Big Grin

Ok...I know everyone's opinion will vary on this, but what do you feel an ok # of books is to "buy" at borders without being greedy? lol

I just did my first order and the charges have hit my account so I'm feeling positive lol.

But I am absolutely in love with this deal! I ordered flash cards and counting and alphabet books for dd. Really cute carebear and strawberry short cake stuff for her.

I *really* am beginning to question if me, dd, and dh are going to survive through the terrible two's!! Right now she is crying on the floor b/c I would let her pull the drawer of batteries etc...down on herself. *sigh*

Last night she waiting until dh was busy in the bathroom, unlocked the front door and decided she was going outside by herself./ So today we have to go get new locks to install b/c she can now undo the deadbolt and the other lock.

She absolutely does not listen. She would rather stay in her room crying for hours than listen! I'm begging for tips on how to get her to behave. Dh is at wit's end and so am I.

I think he's too strict and he thinks I'm not strict enough so then we're constantly getting mad at each other. We both try to make an effort not to contradict each other in front of her and just discuss it later, but what do you do with a two year old that thinks she's grown?? She has a chart, has no interest in it. We've done time-outs, swats on the butt, the corner, you name it.

Here's a way to put effort into it:

I am going to be COMPLETELY honest here... and this is just me (also, I didnt get any PM from you).... I have been on since last March.. joined in August. I have seen MANY MANY trolls popping in, stealing deals and things with TQs have gone DOWNHILL since then. I have NEVER had so many problems. If I get a PM from someone who hasnt posted anything here, I am not going to answer. If I get a PM from someone whos name I dont recognize, I ALWAYS check and see what they have posted (if at all). Now I know that sounds mean but I think things need to be reciprocle around here. And yes, we were ALL newbies at one point.

BTW, thank you SOOO much indydrew for the Qs!!
Quote from toyresellers :
Kidlets and I are going to head to Target here in a bit. We don't really need anything, but I would like to look for new TPC's. I should also grab some more Powerade. I would also like to check the baby clearance and see if it has been marked down any more.

As for NEWBIES, here is my opinion after reading for months before posting. There are those that are totally new and those that aren't (they have been reading and studying). My guess is, that as secretive as everyone tries to be about certain things, those "Newbies" that have been reading know what is being talked about and can do runs with the best of them. JMO though. Take it or leave it, but just b/c someone doesn't have a million posts does not mean that they are clueless or a troll.

To keep this deal related, I rocked the salsa world this wknd. It is clearanced and I found it 50% off. Makes the overage even greater.

I agree with megnsamgrace....and here's my problem with this person's post, basically these "newbies" have been taking everyone else's kool aid for months and not contributing, and that's ok? Yea...they probably aren't newbies, but if they can do runs with the best of them, then shouldn't they be contributing like the best of them???

LMAO seriously.. I think it's time to break out the 'play with me' tester bottles of victoria's secret lotion again. dh just hasn't been in the mood lately.
he's a college basketball coach and right now is a crucial time because players are starting to come in from out of state, get moved into apartments and all that fun crap. then afterwards he and the other coaches dine out until around midnight once or twice a week. so.. not much energy left for me. but that doesn't mean I won't be trying harder. Terrible twos were a long time ago for us, but the one thing I know for sure is if the 'Nanny' show had been on when mine was two, I'd have watched it every time it was on to gather tips. I really think when one parent is too strict & the other is too lenient, that adds to the problem.

Maybe make a deal with DH to watch it together, even if you have to tivo/dvr/tape the show and watch it once DD is asleep.

not to mention they tend to be the smash 'n grabbers. and also.. if someone has been supposedly been reading up on the thread for a while you'd think they wouldn't be writing on a public board that which is warned of in the wiki. it's like saying, "i'm a n00b.. and here's my scam of a contribution, even though i've read everything and know the rules of the thread." We actually just started watching that show lol. But I do think that our differing parental styles cause some of the problem, but I don't know how we can make it better, ya know?

Hey, when I first started doing T I had a ton of questions and I would pm people and sometimes I would get an answer and sometimes I wouldn't. If you actually READ you can pretty much figure stuff out. I know for a fact that one of my T's has been scared off of coupons b/c they got ripped off so much...if you are getting a $600 tv for $2 with coupons, you aren't being legit not even a little bit.

I tend to agree with the posts by megnsamgrace and jen2882... even though I was a seasoned poster on SD, had well over 2000 rep points and knew what I was doing - backwards and forwards - at CVS and WG, I would bet I still just read along on the Target thread for several weeks.

I only posted on the Target thread once I could provide some type of helpful info. But I went out of my way a few times to look for something someone had asked about - prices, availability, sizing - so I could offer up a useful post or two here. I did not want to be someone who just 'took' and gave nothing back.

Also, when I couldn't figure out a deal, I just didn't do it. I decided that if I wasn't smart enough to figure it out by reading along, I didn't have any business going into a Target and attempting the deal, as that might just screw it up for others. I truly wonder how many of the things that have happened over the last few months were due to those who were overzealous and couldn't be happy with a 'great' deal.

It is incredible to me that you 2 think you have all Newbies pegged. Have you ever given any thought to the idea of someone closing one acct and opening a new one? Over and over I have read, "Where is whee?" "Where is bjhac?" "Where is so and so?" Do you think it is possible that they get sick of people constantly asking them to do things so they just start fresh with a name no one would tie to them? They were always helping people, weather they were new or not. Maybe ya all should learn from them.
