When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! Well, I was all ready to jump in on the oh-so-fun man/husband-bashing (I recently returned to work FT while DH got a turn as the SAHP for two boys ages 6 years and 8 months)... then the thread took a decidedly creepy tone w/the overbearing DH story. Bigeye

Something like that really makes you appreciate what you have, kwim? Wink Mine might leave dirty dishes all over the house, only bathe DS#1 every third day and make *dinner* (usually PBJ) at 8 o'clock at night.... but he sure as hell has never *forbid* me from doing a damn thing! Nono And he better be smart enough not to ever try. Cool
No kidding smeg. Mine is a frickin slob, dirty clothes, dishes everywhere, forgets errands but he cooks dinner every night and takes excellent care of DS. Sometimes he's 10 min late for something or forgets to write down DS blood sugar but man, nothing like the above. I'd like to see him forbid me. Sometimes he may say he'd like it if I stayed in and watched a movie instead of going to Target or something and when he does, I almost always stay just because he asks nicely. I would FREAK if he ever acted like the above post

Question for the day:

How did you find sd?
DH actually sent me the FW site day before black Friday but I was already hooked on black friday website so I didnt really look at it. That weekend I looked at it and was like "doh". From there I was on a lot but I thought that site was a bit confusing. Then he sent me HCW but I hated the way they structure their threads. I was reading my money magazine for the month when I saw a blurb on SD and was like, hey, that must be what the FW people mean when they say "ripped from SD". And I've been here ever since. Right around toy clearance/huggies deal. Except I thought in the beginning you couldn't combine MFQ with it so paid for some wipes. Silly girl.

I have a PERFECT DH!

He cleans, builds things, fixes up the house, gardens, washes the clothes, keeps the kids in line and sometime cooks. woot

The problem? He's a clean-freak and builds 95% & leaves 5% unfinished. Also, he's a spender. Loves to buy luxury/brand-name items... But he is learning to ask if I have a coupon for anything or at any store.

Another thing - no obvious romantic gestures, only the subtle showings. heart Example, for a celebration, I have never gotten a flower. Frown His reply, "Here's a scissor, go to the garden & cut some roses for yourself." OMG For a date, "Would you rather I spend the money on a nice dinner or the flower."

I guess when it comes to frustrations with DH, I will weight the good with the bad and put them into perspective. Wink

about 5 years ago i was only a tiny freebie forum (site A)... when people would post finds they would a lot of times refer to this other forum (site B) and i checked out site B but it was a lot more complicated than site A but i ventured anyway. then after a while i noticed people were always referring to SD. but it was MASSIVE compared to the site i was on so i was too confused to use it- so fast paced. but after awhile i started reading the frontpage of Freebies. then the frontpage of Hot Deals. then i started reading all day long and getting every freebie. Then I was big pimpin in CVS for a while. Now I do Target and don't really even bother with the free toothpaste and cereal samples. laugh out loud

so that's where i came from.... Big Grin

So now 9:30 am I get the phone call that was supposed to be let's meet so I can get my dd and go to the water park, and she is on the other end hooping it saying I can go! grrrrrrrr. I'm so irritated. She said her husband last night said to be an informed parent and make sure the water is safe. So she researched it last night and told him this morning. He said I think you should go now. So she has "permission." She said sorry if I frustrated you last night, I was frustrated, too, damn crypto tried to ruin our fun. wth??? No kidding. I wanted to say no dh ~ this isn't the first time, but resisted for now. First I need to get to the waterpark. Maybe we will chat a bit at the park.

So pray that we don't get sick at the waterpark. I'll end up the evil person who took her daughter to the park and made them go, I'm sure. And have my dd banned from their dd.

This is madness, I tell you!!

honestly i'd probably tell her - whoops we've already left. too bad. because with the husband the way he is, he'd probably change his mind while you're gone and bring wrath down upon her when she gets back. Mad vomit
i agree with everyone else, dh sooo does not command me around and he would definitely be hit with something else if he tried. nod

Doh forget about that. i read it wrong, as like dd wasn't going.
in that case, tell her you really need to be leaving now and can't wait for her to be ready. (because undoubtedly with all the crap, she isn't even ready to leave.) pick up dd and go. look around

Ok, I feel bad after reading how much Jen's dh paid for pizza yesterday. Last week, I meant to mention that Little Caesars has a deal going here every Tuesday... a large one topping pizza for $3.99! Not sure who of you might have these in your area, but best of all, it was really good. Fresh out of the oven, great crust, even dd, who is a pizza snob, asked for more this week. So guess what we had last night? Smilie

Only bad thing? This is a carry out only price.

How did you find sd?
Article in our local paper. Mentioned SD & FW, among other things. I signed up for both, definitely liked SD better & the rest is history. Used to focus only on Hot Deals, but that was before the Drugstore Forum came along. Started on CVS deals, tried to get threads going on Walgreens & Safeway but was never successful. And early on, everyone shoo'd me away from the Target thread, back when it was ALL business over there. Hung out in the BS thread until the major bru ha ha there caused tons of my friends to leave or sharply cut back their SD time.

this is what it really is - he just got a raise at work last week. so now he feels obligated to spend more. i'm sure you get what i mean because people do this all the time. i told him during our fights with the phone to quit trying to keep up with the jones's laugh out loud - that's how working middle class FOREVER stays working middle class. you can't save if you're always spending away whatever raise you get. Mad Mad
I am really proud of you for reigning him in, whatever efforts it takes. You are SO right!

Calliebritt, your friend's dh is definitely something to be scared of! EEK!

Thuctrang, your dh sounds near perfect. NOT perfect, but near so! laugh out loud

Mine is neither perfect, nor near so terrible as the one to be scared of. He was stay at home dad with dd for 3 months of her life, and he did quite well. The house wasn't perfect when I came home each night, but it was bearable, she was clean, fed & happy, and he had dinner cooked. I seldom had dinner cooked when he got home during the 3 months I stayed home with her.

My dh is wonderful with tools. He knows how to do pretty much everything, but it seems we're always hiring someone to do the things that need doing because there are not enough hours in the day. He was really good at making sure all the money he earned disappeared before we met, but over time the pendulum has swung the other way. Of course, he wants to be able to retire and so he is now into saving money.

He is, though, just a big kid. I guess there are some things we would likely all change about our dh if only we could. Smilie

i ended up picking up my plate of kfc coleslaw and threw it at him as hard as i could. he was COVERED in coleslaw, as well it went everywhere on the floor.
he then yelled at me for that and stormed off to the bedroom.

its been over an hour since this happened and we've cooled off over the whole thing, so no serious problems. Wink

i haven't done anything like that since i was in like.. 3rd grade. and as bad as i felt for doing it, i can say this.. DAMN it felt good to vent out that pent-up frustration towards him for the careless things he says. nod

Morning..

Anyway Im still new but I won't bore you with all the details except last nite I went to Target to return a few things. I took my two dd with me ages 5 and 11.When we got in the store I handed my oldest dd my keys (can we all see this outcome)I returned one of the big boxes of size 4 diapers. I returned them because they were 19.58 and had picked up various (wrong sizes for 13.)Wink Now before I asked the question at guest services I knew the answer (can I repurchase at lower price, no they have to go back on the shelf) ok whatever..

Start my target shopping find a boxes of 6's pick up..(again wrong size right price)have fun time shopping..Check out go over to guest services ask maybe if I can switch for the box I returned no..get mad and say Im going to call and complain..

Leave store ,get to van ask dd for keys???Mad vomit dd doesnt know where keys are..have to go back in target and look, and look..Eventually most of team memebers are looking for keys..finally team member finds them in a shoe box....THank God..

Didn;t want to have to call dh . He had my two sons and was visiting other Targets..(good dh)
Anway I was wondering can I call anyone at Target and put a good word in for a few associates..?
