I'll be the temporary fill in SD friend. Order it. I just did. These are GREAT jackets. GREAT price. And, lord knows I lovefree shipping. Smilie
No, its $40 bucks! I don't care that they had it over priced at before, kids grow way to fast to spend that on a jacket. My high is no more than $20 but I do aim for under $10 since I have girls cuteness plus warmth makes determines if I splurg for the $20, $40 never!

yes,we should splurge every now and then, but I get jackets at a great price shopping the Pennies clearance, or at the children's place outlet. Also since it is still in the upper 90's here and won't start to get cold for 2 more months, my kids is likely to have a growth spurt before it actually gets cold.

you know there was probably a time when we paid retail or almost for just about everything. nowadays it seems like if us SDers don't get it free or almost free we don't want it. remember- it's ok to splurge once in a while! nod

you earn it with all the $$$ you save!
good point! thanks. hug

i do, too. i always get the kids their jackets for next year at childrens' place or target, but last year i didn't find any really good ones. First time ever. i like land's end, so i splurged. laugh out loud of course, kids are wearing pj's right now from tcp that cost me 1.50 about 2 years ago!!! Smilie so, they'll be wearing their $40 coat with their $2.98 jeans/$1.98 shirts from target last year. hehe.

I know another SD'er goes to that store - certain items are never in stock and peelies? hah.

I personally hate that ST - they've been particularly nasty to me about coupons there many times.

Edited to add - this is also a Nick Coleman column, take it with a big grain of salt. I can't stand him

I laugh about the funds being taken from the bank account the next day. I can go to Target and dh can see how much I spent before I even get home..or vice versa..lol

The first store (non-target) I want to today had a red car parked in the middle of 4 parking places at the end of the parking lot. It was obvious that it was an employee's car. The car wasn't even an expensive car and it wasn't even new. As I was filling up my basket the situation kept bothing me more and more. So when an employee walked up to me and asked if I needed help with anything, she could tell something was bothering me. So I briefly explained things and she took me to the store manager's office. I explained things to him and then we took a walk outside. I told him it was obvious it was an employee's car and the way it was parked was rude to customers. He said that he would check into it. I didn't go back in to buy my basket full of stuff.

Ok where th eheck is everybody?

I have a shopping dilema, my hubby isnt answering his email and neither is my SD buddy.

I want to know if I should get this jacket for Ryan or not, its a good price, its in hot deals. The free shipping coupon code expired, but I really like it!

http://www.landsend.com/pp/Little...igin=index

So should I order it?
Noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! Don't get it. A couple questions you need to ask yourself before you buy anything.

1) Do I need it (or in this case, does he need it)? Does he not have a jacket/coat at all for this winter?

If answer is yes to #1 please proceed to #2 If answer is no, please close the Land's End website and continue searching for SlickDeals!

2) Is the need imminent? (does he need this jacket now or in the next few weeks)

Trust me, deals will continue to be out there and as T & K fill up their racks with cold weather clothes you will easily be able to buy it for pennies on the dollar with overage!

It doesn't get as cold in texas, but I did get my DD her outerwear when old navy had a big sale.. I think it was before new summer stuff came out.. You can get coats/jackets for $10.

Thanks for advice about selling stockpile to friends/coworkers.. I just brought some stuff in my car trunk and coworkers went out during breaks and shop. Now, they are actually requesting for stuff. I was embarrass at the thought of charging them, but I give them 50% shelf price. I may need to markup my price. So, for them its better than paying full retail and having it delivered to work. They say "work and shop during break!". They would buy clothes for me and I would trade with my target goods..Its kind of a flea market at work with peeps bringing stuff they can't fit and someone else would take it off their hands. My DH would never know that these new shoes did not cost him anything! No credit card to trace..hehe

I was just checking my email and got an e*bates notices, I hope you ladies don't make online purchases without link thru someone, I like e*bates or upromise, even boxtops but there are lots of sites. Lands end and shutterfly each have good rebate %. I guess I am not suppose to mention those sites? even ordering Target online has rebates Big Grin

Just a note for those clearance shopping.

For example ALL kid's swim wear in JcPenney's has been clearance and is gone!
Last weekend, there was ONE swimsuit left, size 16 1/2. priced at 2.97
the weekend before that all swim wear left was 2.97
weekend before that was 4.97
weekend before that was 14.97

Now if you want it, you will have to order it out. At regular price.

Kid's winter jackets are normally clearance out before Christmas, if this helps.

Well I'm out of here, will be back on Mon or Tuesday depending on the kid. We took him in today, his A1C is higher but that's also because he isn't stable yet. His sugars are so high today but he has a cold and a ton of mosquito bites. They reviewed our test results with us from the hospital and unfortunately his thyroid tests came back high. So we have to go in Mon or Tues (they wanted today or tomorrow, I pleaded insanity) and have it redone to confirm. He may have to go for treatment and would be on permanent medication. Let's all pray that he doesn't, the kid has gone through enough. Rough day here. We are finishing up work/packing etc

On the bright side, they gave us a bag full of strips, insulin and supplies to last a couple of months so that's pretty nice!

I hope everyone has happy shopping and will chat with you soon

PS-hope DM's mom is OK, haven't seen her poking in much
