I was at my local San Diego Walmart picking up some ammo for a range session, and noticed the Remington UMC 250rd boxes of .40S&W/.45ACP on clearance for 45.00 (.18 cents a round), down from 97.00. This is a walmart clearance deal so YMMV. On my reciept, item shows as 00770036440, checking walmart.com shows unavailable. Edit: I just did a search for 9mm, and it shows instock at 49.00 for the 250rd box in Corona, Ca (7 left instock according to walmart.com). Not a bad price, as Academy has it for 68.99 for the box, and Bassproshop has it at 85.49 on sale. You can use the wiki walmart ammo checker to check stock here:

Good deal for .45 but not for 9mm. That would be $10/50 rnds of 9mm which is good but not great.

It's actually $9 per 50 rounds, which is a good price for FMJ brass rounds. Even after CA 8.625% tax it's still $9.60 per 50, which is less than 20 cents per round. The price is good.

Unfortunately, if it's gotten to this point, then more than likely most gun owners of Cali will just prep their angus for the inevitable. Most don't have a backbone to stand up and fight for their God given rights.

IMHO UMC is pretty much the worst / dirtiest ammo you can find (maybe only steel Tula/Herters is even worse). When I only got into handgun shooting, I bought a lot of UMC without trying it first and then couldn't wait for a moment I finally run out of it. Pricewise, as said above, it's a decent deal for 40/45, but with 9mm you can do better. Heck I'd even prefer Perfecta to it...
Just my IMO though...
