How does Newegg deal with USPS lost packages?

Newegg
Okay, ordered something from newegg, and they have their one day shipping because I live close to Newegg's shipping center. According to USPS, it was delivered to me but I checked my cameras and USPS didn't make any attempts to deliver to me. Probably USPS screwed up mailed to the wrong address. Called newegg for a product replacement. What are the chances that I will get my money or get the item re-mailed to me? Not that pissed off, but it was for 2 - $5 8 port 10/100 switches that I was going to use for rebate anyways...

Chances are though, FedEx will magically show up with your package in a day or two. I've seen these assholes do this. One time my mother stayed home for her package and the dude didn't even ring the doorbell. He pulled up, stopped for a minute, and drove off. The second day during the next attempt, didn't even drive down my street. The FedEx office tried to lie to me and I asked where I should send my security footage to show that they're full of shit. The sent a van out that night to redeliver.

Another time they asked if they could leave it as the post office since they couldn't find my place. That's 30 miles away. Had I not gotten back to them in time, it would have been delivered there. Another time they left a package balancing on top of my mailbox at the end of my driveway (about 1/4 mile). And another time they delivered to a place next to the highway about 1.5 miles away (not an issue, they just did it). Both of those due to road conditions and they notified me. There aren't any issues with crime/stealing in this area, so that happens.
Couple months ago, UPS changed their procedures, drivers don't load their own trucks now. So he stopped in, but no package in his truck. He asked if I would help look through the truck with him, so I dug through the back of a UPS truck..., not there. That arrived next day.
I'm not surprised a package says delivered when it isn't, errors happen all the time, could be theft, etc. I haven't had these types of issues with USPS, helps when they know every person on the route.
I had this issue with NewEgg and UPS ~10 years ago. I had ordered a computer case and UPS said it was delivered to my porch - but it wasn't. UPS just kept insisting that they delivered it to my home. NewEgg told me they would "look into it," but implied that they believed I was lying and, consequently, would not be replacing the product. Three days later I was walking my dog down to the cul-de-sac on our street and spotted a large box on the porch of an unoccupied house (bank repo). Lo and behold it was my package. I never did hear from NewEgg or UPS again, which suggests I would had to have filed a CC dispute if I wanted a refund.
