so I pay $190 to get illiquid $200.. the only way to get money out is a 2.75% fee /// so I make like $4.50 per $200? seems like a shit deal.
I use these to pay online utility bills like Verizon Wireless. Verizon allows you to partial pay a bill, so I can use every cent of the gift card balance on the last purchase/transaction. In two-three months I'll use up the $200 GC and will have saved $10 on something I was already buying.
If I were to spend $200 on a 2% CB CC, it would cost me $196. This way it costs me $188. Yes, it's only $8, but I'll take it. And since I have four AmEx cards w/ the offer it's actually $32. Thanks OP.
Can I buy like a $25 Amex Gift card and mail it to myself, then use the Gift card as the paying credit card for signing up like Freedom POP free phone service (as the credit card of record)?
I rather not give them (Freedompop) my real credit card number...

Sure you can. I used a $25 AMEX gift card from Walgreens deal to sign up for Freedompop too.
Which portals will give cashback for this, even when a coupon code is used?
Some of them say no cashback will be given if a coupon is used. tcb says that but then has some of their own codes that you're allowed to use and still get cashback (so I used their code instead). What about other portals?
Nevermind: Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, balance transfers, cash advances, purchases of travelers checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, or purchases of other cash equivalents.
Has anyone tried it, despite what the t+c might say?
For example, when Amex had rich statement-credit offers, the t+c always had this. However, my experience was that it didn't matter, it worked fine. On one Amex statement-credit deal, I ran through $4k worth of gift cards. Almost done spending those, lol.
So has anyone used the purchase of Amex gift cards to meet minimum spend to get a new credit card bonus?

huh, pay for your gas, pay for your next lunch, any time you won't get cash back on a purchase. Why would you convert to cash???

Update: the mount of gift card has to be less than $200.00 in order to avoid 'Rush' shipping charge.
