Any wine connoisseurs here?

Just wondering...I'm not at all. But I enjoy visiting the dozens and dozens of wineries and vineyards within an hour or so of my home in Winston-Salem, NC. I don't really appreciate fine wine, but the Yadkin Valley here is gorgeous. And some of them grow Multipulciano* grapes.

I don't really care for Multipulciano. It's a red wine. But I love saying it. laugh out loud
As a bonus, we visited Multipulciano during our trip to Europe this past summer. (ibt "look at me!...etc").

Also, I happen to be drinking the last of a box of Oak Leaf wine from Walmart. It's my favorite cheap wine.

Huh

And I pretty much stick with a Pinot Grigio or a Reisling, regardless of what I'm eating.

Cabs and malbecs here. Very dry, kind of peppery, never sweet.

I can't drink anymore, don't want to mix alcohol with my meds but DH and I have the same preferences in wine.

These days he's drinking

Iter (Pinot)

Most of the Passo Robles reds are good.

One of our favs was always Clayhouse red blend, DH still drinks it.

If we wanted to splash out on a more expensive wine for a special occasion it's always Justin Iscoceles or the Justin Justification, they're usually in the $50 to $75 range but are worth it.

Of course when I asked DH what wines he has now, he started listing, "Well, my knees ache, they also pop sometimes, my neck is a bit sore..." Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Picked up a double-bottle of Chilean cabernet/merlot blend at Sam's Club yesterday, for about $8. Mostly, I use it for cooking, and occasionally to sip.
Other than cooking, I'd recommend a Kendall-Jackson or Firestone vineyards wine for reasonable price and excellent quality.

Before the mass acceptance and availability of beer alternatives (Ciders/"Hard" soda/etc...) I would only really drink wine. White I enjoy a semi-dry Riesling. Red I enjoy a Malbec.

I'm more of a beer and whiskey connoisseur.

I like an early 80s vintage Boones Farm Country Kwencher and a couple of Little Debbie Nutty Bars. yummy

For the most part any wine that isn't in a bottle with a screw-off cap or if it has been poured into a glass it is way out of my league. laugh out loud

I wish they still made Country Kwencher
I miss far too many things from the 80s Sadwalk

Partial truth. The whole thing is bunk, they gave a bunch of professional wine tasters the same wine and each one gave widely varied reviews. Its all subjective. You like what you like, but your experience wont necessarily translate to the dipshit sitting across from you.

Most good wines can be had for <$20.

That said, my wife and I enjoy wines from the Tuscany region of Italy and a good Chateauneuf.
