When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! I don't care for the Goodwill, because they are not a non for profit organization. I do donate some things to them, but I try to find different organizations to give to, because of that fact. Plus the stuff in their stores is so over-priced for used items, I think how does that help the less fortunate. I know people of all wage ranges shop there, but a lot of the lower income families try to put clothing on their children's back from that store. I think they would be better off buying clearance from Target. Our goodwill sells things they get/buy from Target for more money than target last sold it for.
Yep. One of the reasons i don't shop good will anymore either. I donate all of my stuff to a kids in need group down the street. Basically they outsource a company that resells the stuff and they get a profit. not the best, but better than nothing.

I believe you brought up dental earlier....I have dental insurance and i have now had two back teeth removed b/c even with insurance getting them fixed was far too costly. I'm opening an fsa next year and hopefully will be able to use a good portion of that to get my two front teeth fixed b/c i cant afford the oop all at once.

Between me and dh we have shelled out at least $500 this year in dental and I have completely maxed out mine until it rolls over in Dec. They want him to come back in for two more deep cleanings at $130 each after insurance. Thankfully after that he should be good other than reg. cleanings and a couple of fillings. I am determined no matter what that dd's teeth be well taken care of. My mom couldnt afford dental when we were growing up so we rarely got to go. The dentist said we dont have to take her until she's 3. does that sound about right?

Intersting that you said (people) should buy Target clearance clothes, as Goodwill buys Target's Salvage Pallets. They are made up of certain non-parrisable items, some returned items, majorly clearanced items, etc. They pay about $50 a pallet. Some of the pallets can be worth $500-1000! Anyways, just thought you'd like to know that.

Oh and I do agree with you about Goodwill over charging with wanting top dollar for stuff donated and salvage items purchased. I think the reason they do that is they employee handicapped people and they have to pay them normal wages per the law.

If you ever see green barcode stickers on things at Goodwill, they came from Target's Salvage Pallets. green = salvage, red = destroy, yellow = CRC

Isn't it interesting how you learn so much on sd about how diff jobs and places work b/c people that work there talk about it???

Like I could tell you more than you ever wanted to know about movie theatres.

We have accountants, teachers, nurses, etc....

I do believe we even have a Target employee in our midst!! Smilie

Hi everyone...I've only posted in Chit Chat once before, but I always read it...seems I always learn more from Chit Chat and it's much more interesting!

So I just wanted to post because I had a coupon disaster...I lost my envie of "favorite coupons." (I've got different envies - one for faves, one for use next week, one for CVS, etc. This is my fave one). It had...Hot wheels peelies, Senseo free Q's, Powerade and Gatorade, and, OMG 1 coupon for a free Swiffer wetjet. These are just the ones that I remember. All expiring around October/November/December so I wasn't hurrying to use them (because I want to use up my FSS and Kraft free Q's). I have been looking high and low and I feel so sick and sad about this. I can't believe I've been so stupid. Am I pathetic to feel so sad? It's just been a few months that I've been seriously Targeting and then to lose my stash!!!!!!!!

Well enough self-pity I guess. Thanks for listening/reading.
I thought I lost mine last week, thankfully it was hiding at home. Do you remember the last place you had it? Under the seat of the car? You are a "normal" SDer to feel sick!

Hope everyone has happy shopping! I'll bet very busy at work next few weeks and will try to check in at night. Haven't been to Target in a few days, too tired to go after work and have had other errands to run. Todays will be another Rite Aid, how come every time I get an RX there it's filled incorrectly? Maybe T again this weekend, have to use up my 9/30's and need a few things for DS. It's getting harder to coupon with all the scrutiny ,my piles are legitimate coupons but the time is a killer. I can't be spending all that time at the register. I can see why some people are saying they only go 1x a week now, I may do that.

must go to work--syl

I don't shop Goodwill either. Supposedly they use their profits to fund work programs for the handicapped. However, in my area you will never see a handicapped person working there, unless it is in the back sorting through bins. They give them the jobs that are the grunt jobs, they hide them in the back....I can't stand that.

WE ARE NOT HOARDERS. We are SDers (stockpilers)... Evillaugh

Is there a difference? LMAO

Depends on the person's viewpoint - I think of myself as a "stockpiler, but others, who sees my garage, think I'm a "hoarder".

To me - "stockpiling" is for EMERGENCY purposes (in case of hurricane, tornanoes and D-Day Big Grin ), and "hoarding" sounds like a swear word (there's a rhyme to that "bad" word too). Rofl2

somewhere between having enough of something to last for years to come....all gotten for free........and losing your entire bed under your "stockpile" LMAO
