When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Depends on the person's viewpoint - I think of myself as a "stockpiler, but others, who sees my garage, think I'm a "hoarder".

To me - "stockpiling" is for EMERGENCY purposes (in case of hurricane, tornanoes and D-Day Big Grin ), and "hoarding" sounds like a swear word (there's a rhyme to that "bad" word too). Rofl2

Good point!!

No such luck finding it. I'm trying to forget about it. Thank you though...everyone's been real nice here and I feel better (also hugging my dog, which is my avatar, makes me feel better!)

To me a hoarder is someone who saves every little thing, even usless stuff. Stockpiling is stocking up on staples in case of hard times. I don't collect knick knacks, beanie bags ( or whatever), I just want a supply of necessary items in case there should come a time I am truly strapped for cash.

Thanks. hug Not sure. Doc said they might send her home tomorrow, or they might keep her until the cultures come back. So I can't imagine it would take more than a day or two, if they're debating on sending her home or keeping her. Any of the nursing folk know how long it takes for cultures to come back?
Hope the cultures come back clear and your mom is doing better!!! hug

I haven't yet caught up for the AM... Anyone used the Yesterday's news free kitty litter yet? Man, that stuff should be called Yesterday's Poos instead - it stinks!!! vomit

I don't shop Goodwill either. Supposedly they use their profits to fund work programs for the handicapped. However, in my area you will never see a handicapped person working there, unless it is in the back sorting through bins. They give them the jobs that are the grunt jobs, they hide them in the back....I can't stand that.
I can't stand it either. It really burns me up. Mad

nod My grandmother was a hoarder (I didn't really know her, my mom would tell me all of the time!). After she passed away, my mom and her siblings had to go thru my grandmother's house and they were shocked to find stuff like broken fly swatters (about 20 of them!) and broken flower pots that she kept because she couldn't throw anything away. They had no idea she was like that until they saw her closets and such. She was really poor when she was a kid and so couldn't throw anything away.

My grand mother was like that too. We have to keep in mind that they lived a different generation then we are now. They lived through the great depression and such.

I can't stand our Goodwill, either, mainly because of the prices - I can understand slightly higher prices on the stuff they get from Target, 'cause its NEW, but stuff people donate is SO ridiculously over-priced. Clothing items are completely over the line - liek $6 for skirts/pants, $5 for shirts?!? EEK! If I shop sales carefully, I can get stuff from New York & Company, Old Navy, Penneys, even Macys for that price! Why in the world would I want to paw through racks of used clothing to spend that kind of money?!

But I do have to say - our Goodwill does have people working there, not all of them handicapped, but definitely people who would be hard-pressed to find jobs elsewhere. People who have been through rehab, homeless, etc. Almost everyone on the sales floor is like that. I think its cool, and nice to see them have an opportunity to better themselves in an honest, hard-working sort of way.

Teehee - to me, stockpiling is when I have more than enough for my family and a rainy day, and I can hand out goody bags to friends and family who come to visit. That's the purpose of my stockpile. Smilie

Yikes! What part of the country are you in!? We don't have gas supply problem here, but are holding steady at the 3.70 mark, presumably because of supply problems further south? At least, that's what I'm guessing. Who can tell anymore?
