How does the fuel program work?

The fuel program allows you to fuel up for as low as 1¢ per gallon at Kroger Fuel Centers when you redeem enough fuel points in increments of 100. For each increment of 100 fuel points redeemed, 10¢ off per gallon will be awarded. You may also redeem up to 1,000 fuel points at participating Shell Stations allowing you to earn up to $1 off per gallon. Program discount is good for one purchase of fuel of up to 35 gallons. Credit and debit card fraud prevention policies may limit transaction at the dispenser. Offer cannot be combined with any other discounts.

For example:
100 fuel points = 10¢ off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Kroger Fuel Centers or participating Shell Stations.
Fuel price = $1.849/gal You would pay $1.749/gal when you redeem 100 fuel points!
1,800 fuel points = $1.80 off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Kroger Fuel Centers
Fuel price = $1.849/gal
You would pay $0.049/gal when you redeem 1,800 fuel points!
2,000 fuel points = $2 off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up at Kroger Fuel Centers
Fuel price = $2.009/gal
You would pay 1¢/gal when you redeem 2,000 fuel points!
How do I earn fuel points?

There are three easy ways to earn fuel points in Kroger stores every day:
Spending on Groceries (normal exclusions apply): $1 in Groceries = 1 fuel point.
Double fuel points for Gift Card purchases (normal exclusions apply). For example, $25 in Gift Cards = 50 fuel points.
Non-federally funded Prescriptions: 1 Prescription = 50 fuel points. a. As of August 1, 2012, federally funded Prescriptions earn 1 point for every $1 of your out-of-pocket costs for new, transferred and refilled Prescriptions.
How many fuel points are deducted when I select option 1 = USE FULL AMT at Kroger Fuel Centers?

The pump will deduct the correct amount of fuel points based on the grade of fuel you choose. The pump will display the maximum available discount based on the most expensive grade of fuel. Should you choose a less expensive grade of fuel, fewer fuel points will be deducted.

Fuel points are only redeemable in 100-point increments. The starting pump price is a factor in determining how much you will pay per gallon.

Do Gift Card purchases count toward fuel points?

Yes. Gift Card purchases count 2X toward your fuel points monthly balance, with the exception of Kroger and Kroger Family of Stores Gift Cards, Green Dot prepaid reloadable products, MoneyPaks, American Express Variable Load Gift Cards, Visa Variable Load Gift Cards, and MasterCard Variable Load Gift Cards. Is there a limit to how many fuel points I can earn?

No, there is not a limit on the number of fuel points you can earn.
How do I keep track of my fuel points?

Your current fuel points balance is located at the bottom of your Kroger receipt. You may also check your points balance on our website or on the Kroger mobile app for your iPhone or Android device by registering your Kroger Plus Card number.

Does my fuel discount work with any grade of gas?

The Fuel Program allows you to use your fuel points at Kroger Fuel Centers or Shell gas stations on one purchase of up to 35 gallons of unleaded, mid-grade, premium, diesel or E85. Not all stations may have all grades.
What is the maximum number of gallons I can purchase with my fuel points?

Fuel points apply to a maximum of 35 gallons on one purchase of fuel at a Kroger Fuel Center or Shell gas station.
How do I redeem my fuel points at a Kroger Fuel Center?

To use your points at a Kroger fuel center, simply scan your Plus Card under the card scan or key in your Alt-Id on the key pad. After presenting form of payment, you will be prompted to how you would like your discount applied if you have more than 100 points in either this month's balance or last month's balance.
Is there a limit to how many fuel points I can redeem at a time?

There is a limit of 100 fuel points that can be redeemed in a single fuel fill-up at participating Shell gas stations. However, up to 1,000 fuel points can be redeemed in a single transaction for up to $1 off per gallon at Kroger Fuel Centers. Fuel savings are limited to a single purchase of up to 35 gallons of fuel. Credit and debit card fraud prevention policies may limit transactions at the dispenser. Offer can't be combined with any other discounts.
Do I receive additional fuel savings with the 1-2-3 REWARDS® Visa® Card?

Yes. At Kroger Fuel Centers, new cardholders will receive an additional 25¢ off per gallon for the first 3 months after approval, for every fill-up, when redeeming at least 100 fuel points and paying with the 1-2-3 REWARDS® Visa® Card.* After the first 3 months, 1-2-3 REWARDS® Visa® Card cardholders will receive an extra 5¢ off per gallon when redeeming 100 or more fuel points and paying with the 1-2-3 REWARDS® Visa® Card.

You can pay at Shell gas stations with your 1-2-3 REWARDS® Visa® Card. However, the extra 25¢ or 5¢ off per gallon is only available at Kroger Fuel Centers. To redeem fuel points for savings at Shell gas stations, cardholders can enter the card number on the back of their 1-2-3 REWARDS® Visa® Card.
Can I choose to use last month's fuel points first?

At Kroger Fuel Centers, to use point amounts greater than 100 from prior month's fuel total, simply select option 2 (CHANGE AMT) when prompted. Enter in an amount equal to or lower than your prior month's total (savings amount displayed will be greatest amount you can save when filling up). For example, if you have 200 unredeemed fuel points from January and 300 fuel points in February, the display will show that you can save 30¢ per gallon. However, if you change the amount to 20¢, these will come from your January total, leaving you 300 points from your February total. Amounts will come from prior month's total first if available. Amounts entered greater than what is available will round down, taking the highest amount.
Can I choose to use a portion of my fuel points at the Kroger Fuel Center?

At Kroger Fuel Centers, to use a portion of your fuel points, simply select option 2 (CHANGE AMT) and enter in an amount equal to or less than your total discount available. For example, if you want to use 100 fuel points, enter 10 to receive 10¢ off per gallon. Each increment of 100 fuel points equals a 10¢ per gallon discount. This option is not available at Shell gas stations.
If I have fuel points available, am I required to use them?

No. Here's how you can save your discount for later.

At Shell gas stations - If you do not want to use your savings at the fuel pump, do not insert your Kroger Plus Card when purchasing fuel.

At Kroger - Select option 3 when prompted for discount options at the pump, and your fuel points will remain on your Kroger Plus Card for future use.
When I have more than 100 fuel points from last month and the current month, which fuel points are used first?

How do I redeem my fuel points at Shell gas stations?
If paying inside, see cashier BEFORE inserting your Kroger Plus Card.
BEFORE you insert your payment card, follow the screen prompts to initiate the Kroger discount process.
Insert your Kroger Plus Card, or manually enter your alternate ID or your Kroger Plus Card number found on the back of your Kroger Plus Card, your 1-2-3 REWARDS® Visa® Card or key fob.
Select your form of payment and fuel grade.
Save up to $1 off per gallon of fuel up to a maximum of 35 gallons of fuel on a single purchase. Credit and debit card fraud prevention policies may limit transactions at the dispenser.
Why can't I scan my Kroger Plus Card at Shell gas stations?

Shell gas stations fuel dispensers don't have scanning technology. To get the discount, either insert your large Kroger Plus Card or enter your number found on the back of your card or key fob. You can also enter your alternate ID. Remember, your alternate ID and/or phone number must be registered with Kroger in order for them to work properly.
Can I choose to use a portion of my fuel points at Shell gas stations?

No. At participating Shell gas stations you can only use the maximum discount at a time.
What happens when I have less than 100 fuel points at the end of the month?

100 or more fuel points are required to redeem a discount. If you have less than 100 fuel points at the end of the month, these fuel points are not eligible for a discount. These fuel points will expire. Fuel points do not combine across months; each month is a separate accumulation period.
