It seems like this is not Nationwide because I have now visited 2 Costco's in MN and neither had this deal.

Just my 2 cents...these are very sturdy, but also heavy. These containers look big but don't hold as much as they should due to the lids having the stacking feature. I bought 8 of these last year for my big move from the midwest to the east coast and they are not useful for moving. If your need is for a sturdy container that you can just store stuff in, this is great, but if for moving, I'd suggest buying bins that are lighter.

Yes, because these are not "straight wall" design, rather inclined, they are not economical to stack and ship a larger quantity like home moving. I wish a cheap straight wall design would be made with a great top. There are industrial straight wall containers made by other manufacturers, but they are extremely expensive and the lids are additional costs. Even then, those lids are not designed to attach to the lip of the straight walls. Big market for this style that no manufacturer wants to tap.

interesting point! never considered the "science" of straight wall vs "inclined". Either way, yes they are pretty heavy but damn sturdy.

One other thing to watch out for: some containers have a funky smell that lingers. I had to stick my nose in each container at the store and pick ones with no smell -- not sure if it's by batch or just how long they sit on the shelf.

Got these for $5.99 over the holidays. Also, isn't this a repost or did the original post expire?

The original was for 6.99 and is still open. The base price for these must be regionally dependent.

Good deal...Not sure I need anymore though. I have a few of these (Lowe's and HD version) already and some other clear totes and not enough space to put them in.

$6.49 here is WA State. Love these things. Yes they are heavier, but the are super tough. I store all our camping gear in these.

I wish these were on sale again in norcal. I am tired of all the cheap serilite ones that i bought that are buldging all over the place with lids that don't stay in place.

Near straight wall design will raise production costs greatly due to mold construction and speed restrictions which will in turn raise piece price.

Taper is better for production and getting parts out of the molds.
