Let me click the link and read it for you. Ok, done.
If you use CR much to begin with and it's not worth at least $1 per month to not have to spend the time dealing with reading it a library every time you want to look something up, you either don't have enough disposable income to take advantage of 99.75% of the deals posted on Slickdeals at all, or have no sense (at all) of the economic/efficient use of your time...
Some people already get the online version through their library card for free (I.e. taxes). Check your library site first - if you are okay not having the printed version, free is an even slicker deal (though again, taxes, lol).

So if you do this, can you extend your subscription for 12 months at the $12 rate? Has anyone tried this?

can i pay with a prepaid card to avoid the auto-renewal at $29 ?

Just tried with a prepaid amex and it wouldn't accept it.

Had to pay with a regular card. And signed right back in and tried to cancel the auto-renew but its not even showing the subscription yet.

No pay with prepaid card? Not consumer friendly.
