Take a look at the picture of the keyboard layout. The LEFT shift button has been cut in half to make space for the "\ |" key, which normally should be above the enter key but was removed in favor of a two-rows large enter key.
This is even worse than the 15ISK laptop which has the Up arrow key cutting into RIGHT shift button. This one is passable since most people don't really use the right shift, but the left shift? That is a game changer.
The lead keyboard designer at Lenovo needs to be fired. Why is it so hard just to make a standard keyboard with full Left and Right shift keys, an enter key that is a single row and the "\ |" key above the enter key where it should be?
lol there's a lot to be had for the price of a current model iPad...your daughter is smart.

A bit of a computer novice here. Looking for 16GB of RAM and a SSD to boot from. Could these be added to this computer?
What are you planning on using the PC for?
16gb is overkill for the majority of users and won't make your PC faster no matter how many browser windows you have open.
You can usually swap the 8gb stick for a 16gb but you'll be looking the deal by doing stuff like that.

I guess it's more the ssd to boot from that I really want. I guess the RAM is just because I get frustrated by freezes and lag.

Yea, maintenance is the biggest thing I run malware bytes and Norton to prevent issues from surfing the web.
A ssd will give you faster program starts, installations and obviously a quicker boot up.
You'll have to use a drive duplicator software to do this and SSD's are more expensive that HDD's.
I bumped a 4gb Celeron based
Dell to 8gb just because I had the stick (even though I had read it wouldn't) from another laptop and since the processor was such a turd it didn't do any good.
Lenovo is an excellent laptop/tablet brand.. daughter just got an 11" tablet and she said she'd rather have it than an iPad.. very streamlined and excellent screen resolution!

It is excellent quality. We had this brand at my last job.

Max is 8g ram per the link provided. You can swap the HHD for an SSD.

it's not that easy to do since u can't just "swap" the hard drives.
