This is a little tricky, in small print Tello is offering unlimited data at a very slow speed if you buy any data package. It has been reported the slow speed will work with Google Voice. Therefore, you will be able to install Hangouts and use your old Ringplus phone to make unlimited calls for $6 per month. Please edit the Wiki as needed to help former Ringplus users. NOW RingPlus has failed us. I disputed at AMEX for $120 Membership+ fee which was paid just two months ago. Just received reply from AMEX that decision is in favor or me because Ring+ didn't respond to the message AMEX sent to them. I suggest everybody trying this. HOW TO ACTIVATE YOUR DEVICE:
We kindly ask you to try restarting the device so the network can be updated on the telephone. If the network is not recognised successfully please follow the activation steps mentioned below:
- Connect to a Wi-Fi network
- Restart your phone
- Within 2-3 minutes the phone should start a Hands Free Activation on its own
- When the activation completes, your phone is ready for use.
If your phone does not activate, try the steps below, in order, and test your services after each step.
1. Carrier Reset:
- Make sure Roaming is off (go to Settings -> Cellular -> Cellular Data Options -> Roaming Off)
- Connect to a Wi-Fi network
- Go to dial pad as though you're about to dial a phone number
- Enter # # 25327 #
-Tap Call
- A "Reset Subscriber Settings" message will appear - tap OK
Wait 5-10 seconds; the signal notification will display "Searching" on the top left of the screen
When the phone shows a signal again, the phone is ready to use
2. Profile and PRL Update:
- Connect to a Wi-Fi network
- Tap the phone app
- Dial # # 873283 #
- Tap Call
- Starting Service Update message will appear - tap OK
- If update is successful Service Update Complete message will appear after about a minute - tap OK.
If the update is not successful or you get a "Service Update Failed" message, make sure you are connected to a Wi-Fi network and try again.

Someone on R+ forums said they went with Tello's cheapest plan ($6/mo, 200 txt & MB), installed TextNow app for free VoIP & txt, and took advantage of Tello's free unlimited 64kbps data once initial allotment runs out to get unlimited everything - claimed TextNow VoIP was "crystal clear" even when throttled. If so, sounds like a good idea for limited data needs - I'd spend the extra dollar for 100 real cell mins instead of texts in case of internet problems, though."

If I have to move, at this time I'm thinking Tello. This way I can have all the info ready, won't have to worry if the Ring plus site goes down or gets wacky. I can just cut/paste the info to a new Tello account"

FYI, I requested to port in to Tello Sunday evening. I got the email that it might have some delay because of lots of requests. I just got confirmation that number was ported in less than 24 hours.

Has anyone got this email from RingPlus?!! So it looks like they're trying to move us to some other MVNO and your top balance would go with it. Unfortunately those of us who have already initiated the port out process are sh*t out of luck and we will lose our top up balance, which pisses me off because I had $35 left with them.

If you add credit to your account, you'll pay the pay-go rate: $0.03/min, $0.02/MB, $0.01/text.
The best plan if you don't use a lot of min/text is to just buy data, $8/500mb

Tello is probably the cheapest out there, but if you want a different network Ting, USMobile, or Tracfone have similar plans.
