It has been suggested that you can make use of your old Ringplus phones by purchasing a plan from Tello :
https://tello.com/buy/custom_plans
You have to choose a plan over $5 dollars so you can select 200 texts for $2 and 200 MB of data for $4. This is a little tricky, in small print Tello is offering unlimited data at a very slow speed if you buy any data package. It has been reported the slow speed will work with Google Voice. Therefore, you will be able to install Hangouts and use your old Ringplus phone to make unlimited calls for $6 per month. Please edit the Wiki as needed to help former Ringplus users. To keep this thread from being locked please do not make personal comments.
It is also recommended to only choose unlimited services with Tello. To use this strategy choose unlimited text for $3 and 200 MB of data for $4. You should then contact Tello to make sure all voice service is cancelled. Likewise, you could choose 500 MB of data for $8, and then contact Tello to turn off all voice and text.
If you want to have no surprises charges, only select unlimited services and turn off everything else.
The Tello sale on Data is set to end on February 12th

Yes.. Why not in deal talk.
If you add credit to your account, you'll pay the pay-go rate: $0.03/min, $0.02/MB, $0.01/text.
The best plan if you don't use a lot of min/text is to just buy data, $8/500mb
Don't care about minutes.
He said that there have been no issues with throttled data and G Voice.
Worst case, it doesn't work and you are out 6 bucks and looking for another cell plan.

Tello is probably the cheapest out there, but if you want a different network Ting, USMobile, or Tracfone have similar plans.
