first time deal so please let me know what I missed. These have been on the shelves of my local Home Depots for $199 for at least 2 years. I'm assuming this is first gen but I just hooked all of them up and they work great
I purchases the three following items on clearance at Home Depot in North Georgia.
I purchased 3 A19 HUE 3 pack & bridge kits for $50.03 each. Retail was 199.00 sku 046677426354
I also purchased 2 HUE BR30 starter pack 3 bulbs & bridge. for 50.03 sku 046677432270
These skus re indeed for first gen. People usually discourage getting first gen, but might be worth it at this price. If you need a second gen hub, they are on sale refurb in another SD thread.
That's odd. I did a seach on Brickseek and this is what I got: Sorry, No Inventory Exists in the Area You Searched For!Usually, it'll give a list of stores and an inventory count, not just a blank page.
You could go with the Osram bulbs, much cheaper if you're doing a large implementation. Connect directly to your zigbee hub.
I have seen a lot of posts over the last few months for these sets. Is this mainly for people that want color in their lighting? I'm only asking because we recently changed a lot of our light switches to the smart dimmer switches attached to the Samsung SmartThings Hub that can be accessed through Alexa. so we can turn on and off lamps in our kids rooms, lights left on in other parts of the house, outside lights etc, by either going through the SmartThings app or just telling Alexa to do it.
I just haven't been able to tell if there would be a reason to get the bulbs when I'm turning things on and off with the wifi switches. Do people usually do one or the other? Or is it just for people that want to change the colors of their lighting? Thanks in advance!

I just came from Home Depot. Did you had a clearance sticker showing the discounted price?

I did the smart switches, as well (GE z-wave dimmers on ST hub) instead of bulbs since each circuit of my lights contain about 6 bulbs. Paying $35/switch made more sense than paying around the same for each bulb. The only reason I would get a connected bulb such as Cree or Osram would be for locations such as the kids rooms or a closet that only has 1 bulb or I needed to separate control of individual bulbs in a circuit.

P.S. - you might want to throw a "YMMV" in the title. Also there's a dedicated Home Depot clearance threat around here somewhere.
Hopefully they marked them down even lower and are still there. I need 6 BR30 bulbs for the living room.

That happened to me as well. Weird.

The first sku leads me to a rug, the second is ok, listed @ 61.18 for me.
