2017 Camry SE Price Quote.pdf 0 View
I have been shopping around for a new car and got a few quotes on a 2017 Camry SE (the sporty model). I received a quote via voicemail for $9000 off of MSRP. I go to the website of the local dealer that left me the voicemail to see the MSRP price and see the deal scrolling across the banner. The deal is good through end of the month. There is also 0% 72 month financing if you qualify, but this deal is about the price of the car.

http://www.toyotaofmcdonough.com/ If using a mobile device scroll down until you see "Schedule Your Next Service Appointment" to see the scrolling banner showing the deal.

There are additional rebates that may apply for recent college grads ($750) and military ($500). The military discount includes household members of qualifying military.

-Final cost comes out to $16878 before taxes and fees which is $8939 below the $25817 MSRP.
- If using the Grad Rebate, the price should come out to $16125 or $9692 below MSRP.
- For military personnel, the price should come out to about $16378 or $9439 below MSRP.
-If you are lucky enough to qualify for both grad and military, $15628 or $10189 below MSRP.

For reference from TrueCar:
Great Price: Less than $21049
Exceptional Price: Less than $19212
TrueCar Average: $20508

Here is what I suggest:

Use the website to get your local dealer to agree to the price. This is a great price, I wouldn't haggle beyond this. Do not mention the Grad Rebate or Military discount. After agreeing to the $16878 ask for the Grad Rebate and/or the Military Discount if you qualify for either. Dealers will try to jerk you around. It's best to do all negotiating via email and see if you can pit two dealers against each other.

In my opinion this is a great price without the grad or military discount. Let us know if this works out for you.

Edit: Added email quote attachment. You will have to pay dealer fees, I updated the post to reflect this.

A member was provided with a written quote from the deal validating a sales price of $16,817 for a new 2017 Camry SE.

Email from dealer clarifying the Ad.

Quote :
Good Morning!

I understand that you've seen our advertisement for a $16,878 Camry SE. The advertisement actually states "why buy a used 2016 Camry LE for $16,878 when you can buy a new 2017 Camry SE" -- the price was not for a new one, however we did see that there is a huge demand for new Camrys at that price. So, we actually will sell the new 2017 Camry SE for that price, but that price will not include the dealer/doc fee of $799, or the hard adds that are on the vehicle (which include window tint, nitrogen, and floor mats -- $847 total), or tax, tag/title. We would also require that you finance through Toyota at a 3.9% rate with approved credit. If you were planning to pay cash or go through your own bank, you can sign up for the Toyota financing and then refinance it through your own bank, or pay it off in full with no pre-payment penalties.

The drive out price on a 2017 Camry SE with an MSRP of $25,817 would be $19,796.41 (this reflects a Georgia tax rate, but of course if you're located outside of the state, the tax rate may vary). This is the best deal available, and there is no further room for negotiation.

Of course, if you choose a 2017 Camry SE with a more expensive MSRP, the price would go up but we will still honor the same $9,000 discount

Thanks for your interest, and please let me know if you'd like to move forward and take advantage of this great offer, as it does expire at the end of the month!

Sincerely,

Are you sure it isn't that price for the used 2016 model? That's what the fine print says anyway.

I just double checked, the voicemail they left said $9000 off of all 2017 Camrys in stock. I see your point about the fine print though.

I just called, this price is accurate for New 2017 SE models. Call and see for yourself.

They are going to get slammed today. Best to take this ad to a local dealer and ask them to price match. Looks like they have a few dozen SE's at that price. Nice looking car. A bit underpowered with the 4 banger. But for that price, sheesh. The metallic gray pearl is nice. So is the white.

$3000 cash back-- is that reflected in the $16878? like you get financed for 19878 but get $3000 back? or $3000 cash back in addition to paying just $16878? that would be an amazing deal!

This is unreal and very difficult to pull off. Everytime I go to a car dealership I want to bathe & cleanse myself with shady practices dealers do. They really do prey on most folks who make buying a car more emotional than getting laid for first time.

But being SD'er you always want to be one step ahead of salesmen.

Anybody tried to get their local dealer to price match this deal? It might be low enough for me to actually think about trading in my old 07 camry and getting a new one.
