I know I will get flamed for being such a YMMV, but I was in to pick something up last night and I have been watching this
chest topper [homedepot.com] drop in price (Last I knew was $125) from what I believe was Black Friday sales. Apparently there were a lot of extra tops leftover and they have been hanging around 125-175. When I was picking up my items last night, I turned around to see 3 boxes behind and the stickers said Was $50, Now $25. A guy was on his phone talking to someone and ended up buying 2, and I got the final one, but it does appear to have some stock around via the pickup at other stores.
You can easily buy the 46" base for it, or fashion a stand/shelf for it, but at $25 I couldn't pass it up.
I believe the markdowns occurred yesterday, likewise with a 36 Inch Dewalt chest as well ($114 base, $37 topper)
Edit* - It should be noted that if you are going to keep and use this... The first thing you will likely want to do is unscrew the bracket holding in the Power strip, flip it around so the switch is towards the front of the box, and screw it back in. It seems awkward to reach back to hit the switch. (You will loose about 1 ft of cord out the back) but most people line these up on a wall anyway)

It always seems people get butt-hurt when they cant find deals. I was shocked when I saw the price and would have bought all three had the other guy not. I got offered $75 as I was loading it up, but wanted to keep for personal use.
That being said, has anyone ever built a stand/shelf for just using the topper?

Thanks!
Looks like EP, Maplewood, Mankato all have some
I believe they have different SKUs, stores typically sell a set, but from some holiday deals they had them priced individually (apparently a lot of people just use the base as a work station, thus the overstock of tops. One could reference the top SKU from the webpage and have them ring it up with just that SKU and see the price, but it would be a long shot.
