The XBONE controller and receiver cost them $24 to make, I could easily see a $50 price drop with that removed since the oculus costs about $200 total to make.


Your move HTC so I can buy a Vive... The oculus seems to be getting bad reviews still for room scale, there are also some nightmare support reviews out there and a more closed game system compared to steam with the Vive. Ive heard a lot of Oculus games play better on the vive using revive software. THere are also a lot of complaints about usb disconnects.

USE THE OCULUS TOOL BEFORE BUYING TO MAKE SURE YOUR COMPUTER IS COMPATIBLE, NOT JUST FOR THE SPECS, but things like USB compatibility.. you might need a PCI USB card if your onboard usb 3.0 ports are not using a compatible chip:

Finally, be aware that compared to a Vive, you will need a 3rd room sensor to be able to turn around and use room scale VR. These things add a lot to the cost and if Vive drops their price as well it could alter slickness of this deal.

It's not becuse Palmer supported Trump. If that were the only reason and they were leaving due to that, I would say the developers are acting like children.

Anyway, it's because the Vive is the superior hardware, doesn't have the Zenimax lawsuit swinging over their heads, isn't in support of a walled garden, no facebook, better tracking, etc.
