4/2/17...sprint deal @ $5 is dead....

As of 3/19/17 DEAL ALIVE FOR SPRINT

$5 DEAL DEAD FOR VERIZON, AND ATT

There is a lot of bad info in the comments section. Let me clarify that there is absolutely NO ETF, Additional Fees, Hidden Fees, Etc. if you pay the device off immediately slmshrty40

Here is proof that there are no additional fees or commitment once a device payment agreement is paid off and that is closes out the payment agreement: http://imgur.com/a/zmkH7
slmshrty40

I have done my best to show with proof how this payoff works, and to provide detailed instructions on how to do this deal, pay it off, and port out. I have responded to numerous questions throughout this thread that people could answer by reading the wiki and previous comments. If anyone reads through and still doesn't understand how to do this feel free to message me (reps appreciatedlaugh out loud) -slmshrty40

Basic Instructions (using Verizon but essentially the same for each carrier):
  • Select device option
  • 32GB LG G5 Silver or Titan for $5/month for 24 months for total of $120
  • Click 'Add to Package' button
  • Select 'Create a New Account' (new subscribers you need to transfer a phone number) or 'Add a Line' (current subscribers)
  • Follow prompts to set up service and device payment agreement
  • If you are a Best Buy Mobile members you can also receive a bonus $25 Best Buy Rewards certificate
  • Confirm Total Sale Price' section reflects correct cost for your device ($120 or $5/month for 24 months)
  • You will only have to pay tax to check out whether online or in store $10.5
  • Pay $20 or $30 activation fee
  • Go home, log in to your account, find device payment agreement, select option to payoff device, enter payoff amount. Phone is now paid off, you do not need to stay on the service plan for the next 24/30 months. **[My Verizon] =>[My Devices]=>[Click on the appropriate device]=>Click on the link:
    [VIEW DEVICE PAYMENT AGREEMENT>]**

HOW TO PORT OUT TO H20 WIRELESS (after paying off device!!)
1) Purchase a H20 SIM card from best buy ($10) target ($10) walmart ($10) or amazon (.01) - fastest way for me has been to get Best Buy to price match Amazon in store so you get them for a penny immediately instead of waiting for Amazon to ship
2) Go to H20wirelessnow.com
3) Under Services Tab
4) Under Activation
5) Select Transfer My Number
6) Fill out all the information on that page
7) You will receive an email that you have successfully ported out to H20
8) The line will disappear from your Verizon account within a few hours of receiving the port out success email.
9) If port doesn't succeed or go through completely do it again until it does
NOTE: You DO NOT need to fund the H2O account to port out
-slmshrty40
NOTE: It looks like H2O is requiring an airtime pin for Verizon port outs
Here is a link to see if H2O requires airtime pin to port in the number. Substitute your number below and see the value of pinrequired.

FEEDBACK: SPRINT USERS

From Sprint chat and Best Buy confirming the information:

Liz: You can purchase this device with 24 months installments option now. After one month installment payment, you can pay off this device in a single transaction.

I was able to get Sprint to waive the activation fee also so in the end its $120 (5*24) + $25 in best buy gift cards + $9.90 in tax.

Sprint will unlock for domestic and international use, make sure to purchase with credit card for extra warranty coverage, and use cashback sites.

** 3 days after delivery.. it's finally updated, debloated and SIM unlocked (Domestic and international)
called as soon as i got the phone to pay off in full, then asked if i can unlock as i will be travelling soon (true story) but be careful they do a temporary international unlock if you are not specific. The rep passed me to a special desk who was unsure if I qualify for a full unlock, put me on hold, asked around and finally crated a ticket to get it approved... so this may be a YMMV thing. Next day they called and said it was approved and unlock but it was a challenge to get it to work with a different SIM.. I highly recommend you test to see if the phone actually works with a different SIM. See this post (#1834) *** -- Wildantics

Though you can get lucky as above, the official unlocking policies are:
For GMS unlocking: https://www.sprint.com/legal/unlo...ity:unlock
- Domestic Unlock (Full unlock): phone 50 days active, and paid in full.
- International Unlock (only international, no domestic): device active on a sprint account older than 90 days
- For inactive devices: Additional validation may be required to ensure eligibility. (who knows what that means)
- Military personnel: been issued overseas deployment papers. No time requirements.

CDMA: To use it on a Sprint MVNO you have to wait 12 months. "MVNO activation system [will reject] any phone from its Boost, Virgin or Sprint Prepaid brands unless said phone has been used at least 12 months on the Sprint prepaid brand it was sold for" <- This is for prepaid. This G5 is postpaid -thanks broncosfan
http://www.prepaidphonenews.com/2...lowed.html
Not sure exactly how FED works with postpaid. From what I understand, if you get it with a contract you can activate on an MVNO after the contract ends, or after you exit by paying ETFs, but if you get it for full price then it has to be in sprint for 12 months before it passes FED (I think the latter is the case for this G5)

Early Termination Fees: No ETF. "If you are a customer in Sprint's Monthly Installments program, you are required to sign a month to month Service Agreement, but will not be subject to a plan term commitment or ETF." https://support.sprint.com/suppor...vanity:etf -aljgom

FEEDBACK: VERIZON USERS
Just bought it. Paid just $10.50 in taxes (California) and the papers I signed electronically show the retail value as $120. Picture of purchase uploaded here: -Prtssguy
https://slickdeals.net/f/9828583-32gb-lg-g5-smartphone-for-sprint-5-mo-120-for-24mos-service-req?p=97137483#post97137483

If you have an IPHONE, TURN OFF FIND MY IPHONE BEFORE placing your order. My first order has to be cancelled because they can't contact verizon to push the order through since find-my-iphone was turned on during the ordering process. It doesn't matter that it's turned off now... -mathematical

FEEDBACK: ATT USERS
ATT also says Purchase Price $120, Amount Financed $120. Here in FL I paid like $7 in taxes. -theandrewgordon

ATT upgrade and it says amount financed is $120 and I paid $10.50 tax in Bay Area, CA. I have attached a screen shot of my contract below. - itsssmeee

ATT upgrade here in CA and sales tax of $9.30. Amount financed on agreement was $120. Agreement says no prepayment penalty if I pay off entire amount financed early.

Just chatted with ATT, I was told I don't have to pay the activation fee. I upgraded using my current line.

ERRORS WHEN UPGRADING/ADDING NEW LINE:
Does anyone know whats up with message 110 at the store? Has anyone been able to resolved the issue?

Promo Accessory Bundle with Device
Store that I went to did not have these bundles in stock. Store rep could not find an sku and told me it was online only. When I complained they gave me the accessory bundle they had with a store demo phone they got two weeks ago. Another poster reported getting a battery pack thrown in by store rep b/c they didn't have bundle either. If the promo accessory bundle is important to you, look into ordering online. Getting in store is YMMV. May try calling 800 customer service line to see if they can send one out since website does not say online only. UPDATE: After a long time on hold, I was able to get customer service to order the accessory pack for me at no cost since store did not include one on my receipt. SKU for accessory pack is 5067600 - link: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-g5...ategoryId=

I placed an order online for in store pickup. I was able to switch the accessory bundle to delivery via the mybestbuy portal with free shipping and pick up the phone in store. -Lazergun

Case Deals - place your case deals here:

Local AT&T store had the Otterbox Defender in black which works with all versions on clearance for $5. Amazon has for $20. No listing on AT&T website for it that I could find so you'll have to call or stop by to see if they have in stock. HUGE YMMV until others confirm. Update: 4 posters have confirmed this price in corporate stores. No reports of anyone getting different price at corporate store. Don't go to authorized retailer - go to corporate.

Seconded on the Defender case. Its rather large. They had it locked in one of their cases and had at least 4 at my store.

Northeast Ohio: All LG G5 accessories were $5 or $4 if you purchase three or more. Included all cases and tempered glass screen protectors. Had to have store associate check price to confirm.

NOTE: once u update to 7...its is probably a good idea to reset the device to factory settings..

For those that bought this phone, go to gallery and play the roller coaster video. Move the phone around while the video is playing for a surprise.

Look up LG G4 / G5 boot loop issues before you buy. Had a G4 until 3 weeks ago and will never buy another LG phone. LG has admitted there is a manufacturing fault that causes the phone to fail yet only extended the warranty 3 months and wants me to pay to have it fixed and many have shown the fix is not permanent.
It's 120 if you pay off after upgrading. That's the cheapest price you can get on a phone running snapdragon 820 and has excellent camera
wow, I got burned with LG g4 bootloop before... all 4 phones on my plan had to be replaced... the price tempted me... but reading most g5's also suffer from this, I will pass

No need to be a dick. There are conflicting comments all over the thread so I'm just sharing my actual upgrade experience with a carrier so people can get a better sense of what's going on.

Edit: You seem like a dick who enjoys acting like an arrogance prick with your responses. Nice.

Just bought it online. Ate the activation fee. Anyway, I can confirm they value the retail at $120. The tax they charged was $10.50 for California.

The strange thing was in the monthly plans it lists $40, $20 (device fee), $5 (device fee). Not sure if the $20 is a monthly CREDIT and $5 is the actual fee.

The pickup was ready within 20 minutes. If this post/wiki edit helped you please +rep

I didn't take a screen shot of my AT&T upgrade contract for this phone.

But when I was upgrading on Bestbuy.com earlier, it stated that the financed amount is $120. So, it seems to me like this is not a monthly credit but rather a straight $5/month or $120 total sale price. If you do end up paying the $120 off, I don't think you'll be charged full price. However, the fine prints seems to state otherwise so I think BB is farking up like usual.
What color did u get? For some reason i keep getting an error on checkout for the silver color. Titan checks out fine

yup looking that way now finally. I get the concern but the easiest way is to see what your paying taxes on. if your being asked to pay 50 or whatever off 600 or whatever the phone usually is then don't buy it. easy as that

If you read the actual thread you would know the answer..

I read the thread. "Total price is $120." To me, total price includes tax. Mostly ppl just said "plus tax". Best buy website says, tax on full retail. And the thread went on crying about bootloops, which is a serious matter. But the G5 wasn't as prone to get bootloops. It's more likely to have a faulty GPS, which I read is an easy fix.

Then you are an idiot if you think every post that says "total price is $xx.x" includes tax. I am pretty sure that even you know that some states have different tax rates..
