I've had my eye on this model for a while (mainly the 14" yet to be released version)

All reviews say the specs are awesome and it performs well, but the screen is unbearably bad. View angle is supposedly so bad that you can't get a clean view of the entire screen from any angle, and color reproduction is awful.

Stay away until they fix the screen.
I might be wrong, but isn't this the cheapest laptop with a 1050ti? Most at this price point might have a 950m or 960m. Once again, correct me if I'm wrong.
The screen display type is a TN, which is a downside for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8Y26Uq07Kw

This is a really good deal for the size and power, stronger than a 960 for less. The current trade off is you could get 4k touch for a little more on 960m 7559.

I've heard from many sources that the TN panel on this is subpar. People have also stated it to be bulkier than it looks.

Can the screen be swapped out with an IPS panel?

how's the quality in the inspiron vs the alienware? The front page deal on the alienware was tempting, but if this can handle 1080p 60fps on normal games then I rather save a few hundred bucks here.

Why go through the trouble when you can just purchase the same laptop with 4k...the price of the screen will get you closer to the price of the 4k + warranty

Alienware are better quality...yes both can handle 60fps @ 1080p on normal games
