The second variant of the sock greatly outshined the first variant except they removed stuff from the app that made it nice. Its been a couple years but wanna say it was the live monitoring was no longer live but updated on intervals. Had 1 of each version and had an emergency with one of my kids and couldn't use the second one for monitoring purposes while waiting on EMS. I understand that's not the intended use but it was nice being able to relay accurate information when they arrived. Also the replacement socks are a rip off but you can usually find em on Etsy and fake ones on Amazon for a fraction of the price
