Bought this this for double the $ six months ago. Refurb as well drom liksys.com. been solid. Would def buy again. At this price. Is excellent to wait for better for a year or so in my opinion.

I have the wrt3200acs and I get the full 185mbps my service provides over wifi on 5ghz channel. This EA8500 router is a 4x4 model though so technically you can pull 866mbps over wifi on 5ghz channel...

That's a modem/router combo. Never, ever buy a modem/router combo. Always buy those two devices separately. Set-up takes a few more steps but it's worth it.

Get the Netgear Orbi. Hands down the best wifi hardware for consumers. I have it paired with AT&T GigaFiber and pull down 300-400Mbps on my phone. Lowest speed anywhere in my house is 300Mbps on wifi.
