Merlin is based on ASUS firmware plus a bunch of features and bug fixes. In fact, ASUS has sometimes taken fixes/features introduced in Merlin and ported them back into ASUS firmware. So yeah......

It's the same hardware but TMobile has their own modified firmware. TMobiles firmware is critisized for being a little less stable and less frequently updated than DDWRT or Tomato.
