it's not the worst, the screen on the machine is 1080p, if you max everything out and turn on aa on max and stuff you might require something like ~3.4GB. but by that point you'll probably start...

pure performance wise, 980 is better than the 1060 or 1050
the naming convention follows generation + x0, where 80 is the best, and higher the x, the more shaders it has

Is 4.9 lbs heavy? I mean, I've seen most configs with similar specs at 5.5+ lbs, outside of things like the Lenovo 720 and XPS series (which add $400+ more to this total).
