Portland is going to melt! We are getting the smoke from the BC fires the further north you go in WA. Miserable but I have a CL $100 portable AC that has paid for itself in one heatwave. I also need...

Why square-ish box fan is always 20" or 10" and nothing in between? I have been looking for 14" or 16" at a reasonable price.

Dust on the copper windings of the motor can reduce its' efficiency & make the motor overheat & fail. You might be able to use a leaf blower to blow the dust off. Or you can take the grill off and...

Sure. It's just more work. I like the simplicity of this thing. I don't even attach the filter to the fan.. It sucks it tight by itself.

These fans really suck. It's a given they are loud, but for all the noise they put out the flow is very weak IMO for a box fan.

Got this last week. Fans okay. Has legs to help balance. Puts out more air than a comparable occilating fan. Used in my garage. Would be good as a window fan as well. So far works as it should.

You can also price match in-stores if they have it in stock. Got one last night when it was listed for $17.00. Showed them the Walmart.com ad and dropped it instantly.

Yeah, i have a red one. Looks impressive but it was loud as a mfer. I use it for white noise for the little one. The 9 inch mainstays is quieter and moves as much air. I would recommend that one.
