Oiliness of the beans varies among brands, and even within bags of the same lot from the same brand. But the French Roast process does tend to bring out a lot of the oils from the beans.

Generally the only coffee I ever drink is Folger's that has likely been sitting in the drip coffee maker at work for a couple of hours. Hey, it's always free and it's usually at around 4:00am....
