Average is next to meaningless in this context. The truly important part of replacing FX with Zen is frame consistency. Minimums, frame times, etc. That is where Zen is a huge upgrade over FX....

If you had gen 7 Intel's you'd be buying new for gen8. If you buy gen 8, you will buy again for next gen. Not so with amd.
