Easy, for 32" don't do 2K. Between Acer and LG, I'd say go with LG or Monoprice IPS if money is not a priority otherwise Acer, This price btw is the only reasonable price for a VA panel.

It's computer screen, nobody is going to sit 10 feet away. it's normally 2-3 feet for the most people. That chart is probably better fit to TVs.

Make sure your video card will handle this resolution natively....if the display is doing scaling, it may be less crisp than running at native resolution.

It has a displayport, don't see why not. Having said that, I use a windows 10 with scale 125% on native resolution (4K). Be wary if macbook choose non-mative resoluiton, I tried it in windows 10...
