This is wrong. 12mm is 12mm on FF and 18mm on a 1.5x crop APS-C camera.

What he said is correct. This 12mm lens on a 1.5x crop sensor camera has the same field of view as a 18mm on a full frame.

Think I misunderstood what the person was asking. If you put this on a FF Sony camera, you can actually crop it and get the same image as a 16mm lens, not just 18mm.

This lens is best for "Landscape" and "Night photography / astrophotography" not Portrait, if that is your intention. You should be good with that Sigma 60mm and for everything else, that kit lens do...
