I'm not so sure about the IPS test. I just touched a few known for sure IPS screens and didn't see any white.....

TV's are not computer monitors. Do you like yours eyes moving up and down constantly due to screen height, or do you only use 2/3 of the screen?. Buy an ultrawide monitor and thank yourself later!
