I believe it’s discretionary, that’s why it’s “supposed” to. The only good thing is that the merchandise credit will not expire though, so depends on what you want.

As others have reported elsewhere in this thread, Duracells leak like crazy. I've had better luck even with cheapo freebies and no-name brands. I wouldn't put a Duracell in any device ever !

Yeah, and they post rewards pretty quickly in your account too, like next day after it ships or buy in store. Just note that you won't get rewards for second purchase of batteries.
