Doesn’t the chamberlain notify you on your phone when the garage doors open and close ? Mine does. But if you want integration with smartthings then I wouldn’t buy the garage sensor. I rather buy...

Right now I have the agarage sensor and 4in1 set up in home assistant. Took a few inclusion attempts to get the 4in1 to properly show up.

Sometime we only gain a little more safety or security at a much higher expense. I mean you'll drive yourself nuts and broke trying to cover every scenario. I agree with keeping everything local, but...

No different than when burglars would cut the phone line to try to disable Alarm notifications. Best option for that is wireless backup. Which you could do with ST (or any internet based system) as...

Great idea. Have you popped it open yet? See if you can find an antenna lead and experiment with extending it so that it exits the mailbox?

I'm using Xiaomi Water Sensors (zigbee, not z-wave) that I bought from urlhasbeenblocked for $12/ea with my SmartThings hub. They are a pain to pair initially, but they are cheap and tiny.
