As far as I know, the Seagate 4TB and 8TB are SMR. I have both, and I paid $160 for the 8TB one just 2 months ago. These WDs are better, white label or red drive.

Have the white and reds also, performance and firmware all look the same. Honestly only issue is the 3.3V but seems most NAS and newer PSU don't have issue with this.
