Post #110185895 added 12-25-2017 3:53 PM by nikoli707 in Deal Talk
People use it as a scanner (police, fire, ems, etc). It works exceptional well. There is an optional USB connector you can buy for it that makes programming it to scan channels very easily.

Post #110186771 added 12-25-2017 4:30 PM by Astrogoth in Deal Talk
These days it's not much of a scanner. Most metro police or fire has moved up to 800 where this radio cannot hear. Nor can it hear digital signals. If I needed short range communications I would...

HAM are better more capable radios hands down. Just get the technician license for it and you'll be able to do a lot more with a ham radio. The test for the technician license is fairly easy. You...

If you swap out the crystal in these radios with the crystals in old school toasters you can use these radios to talk to customers at drive-thru windows. Youtube is your friend for this.
