The Alta HR is water resistant NOT waterproof. It's okay to wash hands, but don't take a shower or go swimming with it.

I just found it pretty amazing and sad that there were two (clueless) people in the span of 5 minutes who thought you actually got the fitbit tracker itself for $4.

Got one just because I hate removing the rubber straps and it'll take me a second to remove it with this. Helps when you have to wash your hand, take a shower, cook, etc., I know it's waterproof but...
