I don't think that is true for gaming. In Windows Central and Mobiletechreview review of surface pro 2 15 inch, the gaming performance was way ahead of any 1050/1050 ti laptop.

I saw them 2 days ago, and there was this new one with 1080p selling for $1488. Applied my 15xps15 coupon to make it into $1264, and paid $1377 with tax. I think hje coupon code is now expired tho.
