Playing MQA tracks on a non MQA dac sounds bad. I have tried this a first gen Dragonfly. Normal Tidal tracks sounds better.

Check out Deezer for streaming. They also have hifi. I've had apple and tidal(which I hated). Currently have a spotify and deezer subscription.

With a MQA DAC it should come close or surpass Redbook quality. Their claims about high resolution quality is where the BS lies. Even with a MQA DAC, your streaming lossy files. Most people here...

That wasn't the point the poster was making I would bet. At this point in time streaming isn't an option if your main goal is sound quality.

I have HD 6XX and a JDS Labs Element amp and imo Spotify premium sounds better than Google Play. Tidal obviously sounds the best if you use their lossless audio but I'm not paying $20/month for it.

My point is that you were wasting your data on the hi fi music anyway, even if you were playing in ideal conditions. But you can set your music to lower quality when you're in the car.
