Isn't there a way in most SSD firmware simply to see how many hours a drive has been in use? That would clarify whether "serverpartdeals" is committing fraud, as appears to be likely.

Yes, it does show in the SMART data, along with the number of reboots, however, it's becoming common for some sellers to clear the SMART data, so, don't just assume that because it shows 0 bytes...
