May be I was wrong. This Stanley also comes with a bag and it's seems it is no a requirement but an extra for easier clean up. Otherswise- who wants to buy bags all the time?

Not sure why everyone is talking about 85 CFM, this model lists 100 CFM on the Stanley website... Although I'm not a tool snob, I can say I have been pleased with this vac...

Doesn't that put more stress on the motor? I like the idea but seems like it wouldn't breath as easily as a filter. The shop towel, not the universal filter.

The question is: can I use it for dry WITHOUT the bag without any neagtives to vacuum or opearation?

Not dead. Walmart still has them for free shipping/pick up.

You probably need an oscilloscope and current probe to measure the peak current draw if your test was for the electrical power. Something like a killawatt meter is too slow to pick up the...

I don't think you're being cynical. That sounds very plausible. I've never received a ready for pick up notice without the item being available at the front. I have had orders cancelled for being out...

Not a big fan of the back wheels. It means it can only go forward or backwards while vacuuming. Still thinking if I should cancel my order.

Looks like you have to attach it during assembly. I'm planning to leave it off. This should be a good size to mount under my table saw. And another mounted under the router table. I also bought the...

I bought this during a previous sale and it works very well. I used it to suck the sludge out of my clogged a/c drain, and it did so effortlessly. It also works very well for more normal vacuum...

Is the handle detachable?

I would consider that 18% less is significant. That factor would work well in the garage/workshop.

It's a good price for a shop vac but 85CFM seems a bit low when compared to others. Couldn't find any info on the air watts or sealed pressure.

I have no idea how vacuum manufacturers get away with such misleading information. It's just not possible for this vacuum to use more than 2.4hp without tripping a 15A breaker.

No way it is more than that. 6HP is peak, I guess it is 1HP at most.

Thin shop towel. Like you can see the sun through it if you hold it up. Not some fluffy bath towel thickness. It's worked for him forever. When it's dirty he throws it in the wash.

The rigid ones are still better, although they cost more. They have a thicker diameter hose. Lifetime warranty.

Tested mine just now. Not impressed. It draws about 960 watts at the outlet. Manual claims it's 10 amp motor. Never got above 9, even with almost fully closing the hose. I have a smaller, 4 gallon...

It'd be good so you don't have to worry about accidentally sucking up things you may still need, since they're easily retrieved afterwards compared to vacuums with enclosed bags. Little vacuums...
