I'm not sure how it's keyed, but I seem to remember that the popular Asrock Deskmini 110 only accepts NVME drives in it's M2. Still, SATA is quite a bit versatile if you don't need the NVME...

I put this in my 9560 last time it hit front page. Replaced the pathetic 32GB SSD that shipped with the laptop. This was a huge upgrade to that. Installation was insanely easy.

You are right that SATA uses B keying and PCIe uses M keying however they're not mutually exclusive keys. The drive is keyed B & M which means it fits both. I have yet to encounter an M only or B...
