I have found that a cheap pair of hiking boots make for a more comfortable wading shoe. They are more flexible and more comfortable to wear all day

No. When you go wading, you stand in water, could be waist high. These get submerged, but protect your waders from the bottom of the water, and give you traction. They may dry out quicker than normal...

Shorts and a pair of these boots are perfect when it’s warm outside, if you buy them sized to fit with waders you may have to wear a neoprene sock to get a good fit.
