HP is not really known for their SSD whereas Samsung is established and has one of the fastest SSDs out there in the market.

I've been looking for a cheap 500GB SSD for cloning/backup of my 960PRO. This fits the bill nicely! Thanks for the post.

Great deal, but I agree with the other comments, pay the extra $20-30. And get the 860 evo. Still if you don't care and just want a cheap 500 GB ssd, this ones not bad.

Unless you copy large files, the reason these are cheap ssds because besides cheap Nand, they have a cheap small cache controller.. Large file read/writes are drastically slow

But take into consideration of length of warranty. 3 years (HP) vs 5 years (Samsung). That's if HP will even honor the warranty from an ebay seller.

Pay the extra for Samsung. I just replaced the HDD in a 6 year old Asus and it's night and day compared to what was going on before. I turn on the computer and it's up and running in seconds.
