I have the 5420T. It’s an amazing sounding instrument. I don’t think you can compare to a fender Strat because it has a completely different sound.

Ihave a Gretsch electromatic , made in korea. It is a gem. I play it more than my USA made fender strat. Dunno about this one. Indonesia is probably worst quality than China.

The strat is made for a more blues rough edge sound. The gretsche has more of a smooth clean jazz feel to it. Both definitely sound great.

Nut measurement is 1.62500 inches. E to E at the bridge measures 1.8750 inches. Thats what I measured, but you may wish to check the specks at Gretsch for sure.

Maybe climate is an issue. Indonesia is tropical, with humidity at 70-90%. Even if the assembly area is air conditioned you still have to ship and store wood in less than controlled circumstances.
