The G9 is awesome for video stuff and if that’s your thing. The Sony A7 iii for photos. What a revolutionary camera. The best mirrorless for photos and it’s very good for video too

I think 12-35 f/2.8 is very nice and much better than the kit lens. If you are on a budget, 25 f/1.7 or 20 f/1.7 are great, too.

I also had that problem. I purchased a fuji lens and they shipped a used one. I have been hesitant to buy anything from focus since then. I had nothing but good things to say about Adorama and BH.

If they send you a used equipment just call them and they will resend a new one. Happened to me before when i ordered a lens from them on ebay. I think they're based in Dallas.
