I have the 16GB model and the write speed is around 20MB/s when I copying Ubuntu iso file. My 128GB Sandisk Ultrafit also gets the same speed so I think the write speed of these flash drives is awful.

This is more of the USB 2.0 ones. They can't even hit near the average of 20Mb/sec. You can use CrystalDiskMark to benchmark them.

The USB 3.1 units are not good. The older/longer USB 3.0 flash drives were excellent and I try to buy a few every so often. Fantastic read /write speeds (since it was an SSD with a USB plug).

Ultra is actually their slowest model. Look for Extreme, Extreme Plus, and Extreme Pro for better speeds.

LOL brand new laptop with 3.1 and 3.0 ports drive is garbage and got returned and 30 mb/s over 20mb/s from usb 2.0 isn't a upgrade at all.

Just pulled the trigger for two.
I was planning to get a 32G USB2.0 for $6.99 then heck, why not go for 64G USB3.1. So in for 1. Then why not 128G USB3.1, in for 2.

maybe I am lucky, I tried a few 2g files, I constantly have at least 30MB/s writing speed. Make sure you plug into the right USB, or try different computers

Sandisks that aren't "Ultra" have the slowest write speeds I've ever seen. The only ones on the list I'd be curious about are the USB 3.1 ones that are Ultra.

its just a higher ceiling, these are all a bit slow, faster than 2.0, but no where near what usb 3 is capable of, ssd type performance comes at ssd like prices....
