I tried using a Wacom tablet previously for photo editing, but I'm so used to the mouse that I found it really really difficult. I know people say to put the mouse away and just force yourself to...

I've tried third party tablet but I prefer Wacom. Their pen is just solid and well built. I have a large but I have it scaled for small region so small is definitely adequate for most needs. This is...

Thanks for your feedback. Since I'm totally new to learning to sketch, the iPad may be a better way for me to go since I'll definitely need to look closely at what I'm drawing :-).

Depends. The main benefit of using tablets is for greater control when you edit your photos, either in Lightroom or Photoshop. It will, however, increase your editing speed and accuracy compared to...

I had a dell venue 8 pro, which probably compares to the ipad well... The controls were not optimized, WACOM would have been better for that. The big thing for me was seeing where I was drawing...

I've always been curious about these. Is the transition to not seeing where your pen strokes are in relation to looking to the screen easy to get used to versus using a pen on paper where you will...

Just to give my opinion, go with the medium. It's a really nice size. Small is TOO small.

I've been debating getting one but I think the small may be too small.

At work as intended at least for me. And I purchased mine at least 5 years ago. But it still works if that means anything. Mostly used for editing but I did sketch once in awhile. It worked fine.

how does the wacom pen compare to surface pen or apple pen? I was surprised by how apple pen was better than the surface pen and really felt like using a pen.

Do these also work as regular tablets with apps and web browsing? Or are these just glorified art books?

How's the quality of the monoprice one? Is sensitivity level pretty accurate?

Wacom primarily is used by artists, at least that's the market they target. They're nearly industry standard. If she wants to try to draw digitally, there's no better investment.

I have the monoprice unit and used it successfully to create T-shirt art. The Wacoms would suit just fine for that. The big issue I have is that I'm tied down to a desk or simlar, it's not portable,...

Something about this is bothering me, like the first sentence is referenced as a negative with the "however" place after it, am I wrong?

Their pen tech is pretty up there, if not the best. Also, their drawing surface is a matte panel, which will give a more of a "paper" feel. Glass surfaces like the Surface pro and Ipad are more slick.

How are these with Lightroom? Does this increase workflow or just give a little more control?

I don't have a Wacom but I do own the large monoprice version. Take a bit to get used to but the added control when editing photos is so nice. Also you can map shortcuts , adjust pen pressure, etc.
