Yes, the center of the horn is a tweeter. I would avoid obstructing the center of this speaker, but if that is unavoidable you could probably live with the trade-off.

The sensitivity of the jbl is low only because of the small midrange, it can still handle a ton of power and the 1" compression driver is like $50 alone.
