The new cards were originally expected to come out at the same price points...meaning older cards would be cheaper. What nvidia kinda did was just tack on extra cards on top of the 10xx series....

For the 8GB Ram 256GB SSD version yes but I've never seen the 16GB 128SSD+1TB HDD version that low.

I don't agree with that, but it's a preference thing. For me 15.6 means it's more portable than 17. Battery life is better too.

The 1060 Max Q and the 1060 standard have pretty much the same performance. It's really only the 1080 Max Q that doesn't perform as well.
